As a visual artist Nancy paints relying on the
intuition behind the tradition of Canadian landscape painting,
and explores new, contemporary ideologies. She wants to capture
and record fleeting moments of time. The clash between the effects
of natural phenomena against the landscape altered by human intervention
provides a fertile ground of emotional charge and narrative that
drives Nancy's artwork. In order to portray this emotion on the
canvas more than just the direct representation of imagery is
required. Through colour explorations and superimposed images
the paintings are modern interpretations.
